What a great weekend! A handful of the PrideNJoyz family got together and entered the Fast CAT in Mount Laurel, NJ . It was nice to represent the breed and get together on such a beautiful day.
It was the first time any of the dogs has tried a Fast CAT and all did fantastic!
FAST CAT® – which stands for Coursing Ability Test – is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure. It’s over before you know it — and it’s nothing short of awe-inspiring to watch your dog run at top speed, ears back, eyes focused, legs strong.
Now you are probably wondering...well, how fast did they run? Who ran?
PrideNJoyz Up All Night aka Crickett, owned by Tina and Elmer, was a bit confused there was not turn (since it wasn't like lure coursing) and wasn't able to finish her first run. We knew she would pick up on it quick and she did. She redeemed herself on her second run and reached 19 MPH or ran 100 yards in 10.56 seconds.
PrideNJoyz Maple Thor aka Thorin, owned by the Murphy's, was a bit unsure his first try but, he ended up reachingthe finish line after a brief pause the middle for a time of 16.76 or 12.20 MPH. His family came to cheer him on for his second run he came out like a rocket with a time of 8.13 or 25 MPH!!!
PrideNJoyz Naughty Girl aka Spanky finally found her niche! She was more than excited to go the distance reaching 23 MPH for a time of 8.84. and 23 MPH her second run with a time of 8.84. How's that for consistent?!
PrideNJoyz Triple Play aka Hammy, owned by Laura and Patty was the good boy we knew he would be. He ran the 100 yards in 10.43 seconds for 19 MPH on his first run. His second run he made 19 MPH in 10.73 seconds.
PrideNJoyz One Sweet Whirled aka Kira, owned by Pam and Dave, came for the afternoon session and ran the 100 yards in 10.88 or 18 MPH.
In total, all of the dogs got 8 qualifying runs! I have a feeling we will be going again.
